Holy Exfoliation

Ah yes... that's what I looked like 10 years ago. On days when you feel like you look like crap it's always nice to look back, you know? It's ironic that I have always been blessed with "good" skin. I've stayed out of the sun all my life, and I've got that porcelain thing working. Of course these days when someone compliments me on it I kind of feel like smacking them with the nearest blunt object and screaming a run of obscenities, but I'm sure I'll get over that one day with a little therapy.

Today all of the skin on my body is peeling off. I mean all... everywhere. IL-2 has proven to be a giant chemical peel. I've never had one before, but I'm thinking that maybe, just maybe, my skin will look great in a week. I'll glow. Who knows. Until then, I am relying on my tried and true skin products to get me through. I thought I'd share a few of my favorites in case there are some brides out there looking to exfoliate the hell out of themselves, or you're looking for the perfect gift for the person in your life going through cancer treatment. Sugar scrub trumps flowers. Either way...

I've been using it for a decade. Cheap, easy and super gentle. $11 from drugstore.com

Fresh Sugar Face Scrub. I could eat this stuff. It's a combo of brown sugar, honey and everything else yummy for your skin. I've been using it pretty frequently to get the dead skin off these last weeks. It really does leave my skin feeling moisturized and soft. $55 at sephora.com

Clean and gentle moisturizer. I usually coat my face twice a day. I prefer the non-SPF version.
$30 from http://www.kiehls.com/

Serious exfoliant using salt and oil. Gets the dead stuff off and leaves you smelling great. Just watch out when you're getting out of the tub. The oil kind of coats everything it contacts.
$30 for a tub at http://www.sabonnyc.com/.

This is my daily body lotion. It's light and smells ridiculous. $23 at http://www.sabonnyc.com/.

The best thing I've found for lips. I usually pick it up at anthropologie for $6, but it's also available online at drugstore.com.

What an amazing picture! you're so beautiful. :)

I love Cetaphil. I also use a small bar soap - Victoria's Swedish egg white wash with rosewater. Something like that.

Since you're getting an unofficial chemical peel, you should have the nurses give you a nice arm and leg massage like they do at the spas during a facial. Hope you're feeling better!

Blessed with Adult On-set Acne at age 24, and quickly found that salicylic acid does nothing. I used prescription Benzoyl Peroxide for years, until the FDA upped the over the counter to 10%. I swear by this stuff http://img.walgreens.com/dbimagecache/412519.jpg and hope it will always be available!

Its been a while! You don't look a day older than the day I met you.
